Seriously can I be the worst blogger EVER!

I wish I was better about updating this blog-once every 4 months is awful. I spend a ton of time reading other blogs and neglect writing my own. I thought this would be the perfect scrapbook of her life... I think I will have to use Katie's blog instead. :)

My biggest issue is figuring out pictures, I just can't figure out how to upload them easily! I take a million pictures of her each day... and have no idea how to get them on here, maybe Katie can show me again one day. I have included a few but they are all random.

We had a fun weekend full of Finley Firsts! She swam and went to the zoo for the first time and spent her first night with Sue Sue. What a weekend! I have pics from the zoo and swimming, but I havent uploaded them yet-maybe I can leaving my 4 readers hanging and you can come back this week to see them

For now, here are a few recent pics from the past 4 months!

Finley 4 Month Check Up

Maybe I am not so good at New Year's Resolutions...on the top of my list was to blog more-I am obviously not doing so well. It's never too late too late to "refresh" my resolutions right?

Last week we had Finley's four month check up...yes I said it and can't even believe it! How is my sweet little baby already 4 months old. I hate to think she is getting older and growing up so quickly, but she is so much fun right now! I loved the tiny baby stage, but she is getting such a personality and we LOVE it!

Here are a few things going on with Finley:

She loves to blow bubbles and spit... she is constantly doing this. Often she spits, blows bubbles then gives you the biggest smile afterward. I have been trying to capture it on video but in true Finley style, she cries every time she realizes I am video taping her. When she spits she concentrates really hard and I can't help but laugh at her.

When she gets tired she wants to be held and she rubs on your neck or grips your shirt or necklace. Part of me thinks I should let her just go lay her down when she gets like this, but I know sooner she will not want to be cuddled and held by me.

She is grabbing for everything and loves to lay on her play mat and play with all of her little toys on it.

Finley loves the song Old McDonald... she is cracks up when I sing and dance to it. Her little exersaucer has music on it. Sometimes she will hit the button for this song to play-only when I am not around!

She smiles at almost everyone and loves her dad when he gets home... she opens her entire mouth to smile at him and she will stare at him when he is sitting by her

The dr. started her on rice cereal. She is still not a big fan (surprising as much as she likes to eat) but she is beginning to enjoy it and at least opens her mouth for it. Kyle thinks way more of it ends up on her face than her mouth, but I figure she will learn eventually.

She weighs 13lbs and is 24 inches long-just a growing girl

We love her more each day and can remember life with out her. i promise to my 2 followers I will start blogging more. I really do want to keep up with this for Finley to look back on one day.

Clearly I am not so good at blogging..

I don't know why I cant seem to stay up on this blog-I actually hate it because I want to document everything about her life and my little notes I write so I will remember later just wont cut it! Today Fin is 12 weeks old! I absolutely can't believe it-Seriously where did the time go! It feels like I had her yesterday, but at the same time I can't remember what life was like with out her. She is such a good baby and is starting to settle into a little routine. Here is a little bit about what she is up to these days:

  • She is loving her play mat! She spends at least 30 minutes on it during the day (not all at once), watching the lights and butterflies...she just smiles and coos at it. However, every time I get out the camera to video it, she gets mad and cries. One of her Christmas gift this year is going to be a mobile for her crib-I think she would love it. Now I need to find it, order it and get it here by Christmas!
  • She is going about 7 hours with out eating at night... great except we need to get her to sleep straight 7 hours :) She usually wakes up at least 1 or 2 times because her passy fell out (which we she hates to be with out) She also wants to go to bed at 8. This is the only time we see her really mad-when you try to keep her up past her bed time.
  • She is a morning girl, after she eats in the morning she is so happy. This is my favorite time of the day.
  • Finley loves lights and ceiling fans, she watches them constantly. Easy, cheap entertainment
  • She loves bath time, but HATES to get dressed.
  • We are blow drying her hair now-it is crazy long. She loves the hair dryer too, it cracks me up how she basically puts her face in the blow dryer air (almost like a model)
  • She is wearing 0-3 month clothes but we are getting close to growing out of those. She is a short little girl, but likes to eat, so she has a baby belly...It couldn't be cuter!
  • Finley loves her car seat, I swear she would be happy to stay in it almost all day!
I will add some recent pictures of her on here ASAP.

I need my sister to help me with pictures!

This week I Officially Became a Stay at Home Mom...

Wednesday afternoon I got a phone call I wasn't expecting...it was my CFO letting me know I was getting laid off. Now it was no shock to me that more layoffs were coming and that I potentially could not have a job to return to in January, but I didn't think it would happen now-while I was on maternity leave.

After getting over the initial shock, I feel OK about it. It is hard to not take it a little personally and think this has something to do with my performance (even though they they assure me it wasn't) I really did like my job and loved the friends I made there. I wll always be thankful to Winnercomm because I made some of the greatest friends because of this little company.

I had been thinking about staying home with Finley and working for Kyle part time, I think God gave me the clear answer that we were making the right decision. It is going to be quite a change-I have had a job since I was 15 but I think this is going to be alot of fun and who wouldn't
love staying home with this sweet angel?

I finally decided to join the blogging world with the encouragement my wonderful sister Katie (aka...world's best aunt) Sadly, I do not think my blog will be nearly as fun to read as hers (she is amazing at finding great things, being super funny and creative) but I will try to not make everyone who reads it fall asleep :)

My hope was to document Finley's first year of life on a regular basis in a journal, but then I started thinking a blog might be better. I can add pictures and also let everyone who loves her read about what she is doing everyday. I recently read somewhere that you can also take your blog and print your posts to create a scrapbook, which I think would be perfect for her to have when she gets older. I don't want to forget one moment of her growing up.

I may back track on dates, in order to get "caught" up-We have about 900 pictures of this precious little one and we have documented everything from her first car ride to her first trip to Target.

So for now I will just introduce our little one:
Finley Marie Craig
Born 9/25/09 @ 7:50 AM
5lbs, 10 oz

More to come soon...
